i find it very hard to understand how the stats accredited to the players on this site can be so vastly different from stats posted by other stats sites for example RugbyStats.com.you can look at any player and the stats will almost never correspond 100% to what is posted by other sites. cobus reinach this past weekend made 2 line breaks and 3 turnovers. yet testrugby accredited him with 0 and 0. yes zeeerrrroooo for each.

is there really a valid reason why testrugby.com is not prepared to compare their match stats with recognised stats posted on various other sites??? at the end of the day we all just want a fair reflection of a player's abilities and form in any particular game, and not just the opinion of someone who is supposed to allocate a score for that player who can be biased towards particular players or teams!
the player of this past weekend is kade poki, testrugby gives him a cool 620 points. well the 3 tries he scored is hard to get wrong but what about the line breaks and go forwards? testrugby gave 1 line break, 12 go forwards, 0 turnovers, and 1 tackle. rugbystats.com shows 3 line breaks and only 5 mauls with 2 turnovers and 0 tackles.

clearly both sites can't be right. so which one is it?? can we please have clarity around who, and how these stats are derived??
i think i speak for everyone playing this game when i ask for consistancy in the scoring stats please. otherwise we will end up all picking the same players seeing that the scorers show a certain bias towards them and they will score freely each week irrespective of form or flair on the day.

There are many reasons for stats to vary. The biggest reason is differing definitions, the next is interpretation of what is often very subjective situations, and the third is rubbish statisticians.
TESTRUGBY.com does occasionally get stats wrong, but in general the stats are very good and when the various weekly queries are checked we normally find the stats to be totally accurate per our definitions.
Often we compare with stats from other sources and wonder what planet their stats were collected from.
Additionally, it is human nature to gain an impression of stats, which is often a bit different to what the actual stats are.
Keep using the 'more --> contact' feedback form to let us know if you have seen stats that seem obviously wrong. Provide a little substance to your claim, and where obvious errors are picked up in reasonable time they do get updated.
